Media General Broadcast Group • www.mgbg.com • WJTV-Newschannel 12 WJTV seeks a National Sales Assistant to provide assistance to the National Sales Manager to maximize sales efforts and to provide customer service. Assist various rep firm account executives, their assistants and agencies in a timely and professional manner. Process sales orders, revisions and make-goods promptly and correctly, through to confirmation. Work with accounting, national rep firm and directly with agencies to collect credit information needed on any new advertiser/agency. Assist in the collection of past due accounts. Assist in researching discrepancies. Work with NSM, national reps and agencies on NAs, program changes, late runs and make goods. Provide most up-to-date sales information (e.g., rate cards, program schedules, etc.) to all rep offices and/or agencies as requested by NSM. Act as back up to other support positions in the sales department as needed.
Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma. Prior general office experience, preferably in the areas of advertising, sales, or broadcast related environment. Knowledge of personal computers to include knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Proven planning and organizational skills as well as ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Time management skills and ability to multi-task are essential. Clear, professional and effective communication skills also essential.
